Baby Einstein Car Seat Toy

Here’s a dad’s experience with a car seat toy from Baby Einstein. If you are considering a vacation or a long trip and your baby is going to be traveling in the car for many hours then you must prepare your toddler for a long journey. Many babies enjoy traveling in the car, but most toddlers will become fussy after several hours of journey. No doubt traveling with a toddler can be a challenging ride, but with the right planning and packing the trip can be pretty smooth. I try to vary car seat toys and among them I trust most is The Baby Einstein Movin’ Music Caterpillar. The car seat toy offers 4 modes of play. It has a remote for parental control from any angle in the car. However the remote doesn’t switch the toy on.

The Baby Einstein MMC(Movin’ Music Caterpillar) is a well designed toy that includes a mirror to keep your toddler entertained while on a trip. The car seat toy is geared towards infants and older toddlers. As you’re familiar with most Baby Einstein products the Movin’ Music Caterpillar has lights to excite your baby and even plays classical melodies and as a bonus it has educational features such as teaching colors in 3 languages. The luminosity and music help pacify a younger toddler while you’re concentrating on the road. In addition to learning colors and playing, the lights can vary in rhythm with the melody and it’s pretty good at engaging even an older baby. Another feature that I like is a convex elongated mirror that sits at the top of the toy and is there not only to give my baby a visual of himself but also lets me keep an eye on my rear facing toddler.

Modes of Play
The Baby Einstein Movin’ Music Caterpillar has 4 categories of music play. It can have your toddler enjoy the classical music and gaze at the lights that change synchronously with the melody. If you want to put your baby to sleep you can try either only the soothing music or just play the lights on for nighttime rest. As I mentioned The Movin’ Music Caterpillar also educates your toddler color recognition in Spanish, English and even French. Every one of the 4 colors lights up as its name is given in 1or all 3 of the languages. The Baby Einstein Movin’ Music Caterpillar also has a volume feature that offers 4 levels that includes mute as well.
Remote Control
The Baby Einstein Movin’ Music Caterpillar has a remote control function for parents to manage it from any position in the car. The remote is a cute star shaped device that lets you play various modes and control volume on the car seat toy. However the remote does not turn the toy on. The only way to activate the Baby Einstein Movin’ Music Caterpillar is to press the white Baby Einstein logo on the toy itself.
Additional features
The Baby Einstein Movin’ Music Caterpillar has been a tremendous help during my long car journeys. The lights and melodies entertain my baby and soothe him at night. The melody is soft and easy on the baby and does not disturb parents or older kids. However, there’s just one downside to the car seat toy and that’s the repeating color names that can become a little obnoxious after some time.
The other thing I would mention about the Baby Einstein Movin’ Music Caterpillar is its remote control’s limitation to switch on the car seat toy remotely. It would be really convenient to turn the toy on remotely. But my little one somehow learned how to press the power button and switch it on by himself. But this limitation could be a problem for parents that have a younger or “uncooperative” baby having to reach into the backseat or most likely stop the car and get in the back to turn on the toy can get a bit tedious.
